The home sits in Lakeside at Blue Mountain Beach, a quiet gated neighborhood tucked between Scenic Highway 30A and Point Washington State Forest.
Blue Mountain Beach is one of the calmer stretches of 30A. It has the same sugar-white sand and green Gulf water as its better known neighbors, but far less foot traffic. The public beach access is under half a mile from the front door, close enough to walk or bike with a wagon full of chairs.
Behind the home is Point Washington State Forest, more than 15,000 acres of protected pine flatwoods with miles of flat, well marked trails. It is the reason the back of this house is so quiet, and it means the view behind you will not change.
Redfish Taco is directly behind the neighborhood. Blue Mountain Beach Creamery is a short walk. Gulf Place, with Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar and a cluster of shops, is a few minutes west. Grayton Beach and The Red Bar are a few minutes east, and Seaside is about fifteen minutes down 30A.
The neighborhood is gated and has its own community pool and clubhouse.
Getting around
A car is the easiest way to get around, and you will want one for grocery runs and for exploring either end of 30A.
The beach access is under half a mile away, which is a comfortable walk or a short bike ride. The 30A bike path runs the length of the corridor and is the nicest way to move between beach neighborhoods, so bike rentals are worth considering.
Scenic 30A itself is a slow two lane road shared with cyclists, pedestrians, and golf carts, so take your time. For longer trips east or west, US-98 runs parallel and is considerably faster. Traffic peaks midday in season, especially around Seaside.
There is no EV charger at the home, and we ask that you not charge from the household outlets. The nearest public chargers are a short drive away along US-98.
